Dr. phil. Moisei (Mosche) Boroda, Dr. of musicology, composer. 1965-1971 he studied at the State Conservatory in Tbilissi. In 1989 he received the international Alexander-von-Humboldt research fellowship for his research of the interrelations between musical and natural language. Since 1989 he lives in Germany. Compositions: chamber music for various violin, piano, clarinet, guitar, cello, and other instruments (among others - a number of composition in the Jewish/Jiddish tradition e.g. The Jewish Triptychon, Jewish Children Songs for Clarinet and Piano, For Your Gates, Jerusalem, El male rachamim, etc.), as well as -vocal compositions to the poems of Jewish, German, Russian and Georgian poets (e.g. Wir schreiten zum besseren Morgen - a vocal cycle for mezzo-soprano and piano to the poems of Jewish folk poets; Mein Herz ist traurig to the poems of Heinrich Heine; The Dawn to the poem of Georgian poet Akaki Tsereteli, etc.). Many of his compositions were published by orfeo21 in Cologne. The compositions were/are performed in Germany and abroad, and broadcast by WDR, SWR (e.g. Zwei Seelen, ach, und die Musik: der georgisch-jüdische Komponist Moisei Boroda im Ruhr-Gebiet), Swiss Radio (Jüdische Komponisten der Gegenwart), and Spanish Radio. Works of fiction: short stories, verses, journalisic articles. A book of his short stories: "We will create a completely new world" was published 2006 in Russian in Tbilissi under a pseudonym Michael Baratov. 2008 appeared, under his real name, also in Russian, the second book of his short stories and poetry - "A Fascinated Island". Since 1997 he is a Chairmen of the DTKV (German Musician Association) for the region Gelsenkirchen/Marl, and since 2008 also Vice-Chairman of the Regional Association Jügend musiziert Ruhr-Nord e.V.
